amor de verdad…..

Fresh from their trip to Mexico to tie the knot on the beach with their closest family and friends, Kara and Mac hosted a celebration with a few Mexican influences thrown in!  We had the opportunity to document the day which included some time to hang out and photograph the two love birds at a place near and dear to their hearts – good ‘ol Kansas City….

Batter up!

There’s a first time for everything – for us, our first wedding on a softball field.  We opted not to wear our cleats to the field, though the thought did occur to us.  Janel and Matt found a way to incorporate all of the things that were of great importance to them, through a symbolic, nontraditional ceremony marked by their personal touch.

Thanks you two, for a new experience, and a great afternoon.

Moooommmmm! He said a bad worrrrrd!  Neal took this shot just after an unmentionable explicative slipped out of the DJ’s mouth.mj_25.jpg

A long time party ritual between Janel, Matt, and their friends includes dipping their finger in a shot, and lighting it on fire!  Not a tradition for the skittish….

Trash The Dress

The term sounds so crude, yet the trend is growing like wildfire in the wedding industry.  Most recently featured on Good Morning America, and appearing on hundreds of photography websites around the country, Trash The Dress (TTD) sessions are becoming wildly popular with brides.  In doing our own research, we noticed that TTD sessions included a wide spectrum, ranging from slight wear and tear on the dress to annihilating the thing by setting it on fire.  While we would have no interest in burning your beloved wedding gown, (which you possibly paid a pretty penny for, and spent months admiring in your closet as your big day approached), we do think it would be fun to have the chance to take you to a few places that time and logistics wouldn’t permit on your wedding day AND that you probably wouldn’t permit for fear of getting even a spec of dirt on your dress before the ceremony.

So, just for fun, we’d like to give it a try once and see where it goes.  Anybody interested?  For our first attempt, we’d like a volunteer that doesn’t plan on storing her dress in a box in the attic for the next 50 years.  It could quite possibly be unsalvageable (but no flames – we promise).  To give you an idea of what we have in mind, picture this: running through the fountains at Crown Center, lying in a wheat field, or even riding a tractor in a junk yard (think rustic meets elegance).

Any takers?  We’ll do one, maybe two sessions depending on the response we get.  The session will be free, of course, and we’ll provide you with a hi-res CD of the proofed images so you can print copies at your discretion.  Professional prints may be ordered through us at current print prices if you wish.

Email us at info@lemonlimephoto.com if you’re interested or have questions!
