Engagements

Winter Wonderland

We are still a bit unsure how the Californian’s made it through our snowy, windy, winter night of shooting the week of Christmas. From Dan’s convict worthy Photo ID facial expressions, to Vicky’s willingness to shoot in a dirty garage, there was an eagerness to go beyond the normal engagement shoot. We are excited for their upcoming wedding and hopefully slightly warmer temperatures.

Enjoy the pics, and we hope you two finally thawed.

Last Wedding – First Post

No silly, not our last wedding ever! We have a bunch of great clients to work with this year, but our last wedding of 2007 has become our first post of 2008.

So Happy New Year to everyone! And welcome back to the States, Amanda & TJ.

How on earth did these guys find you out of Kansas City you ask? Well you asked…

Katy and Matt invited us to share in their wedding in Colorado back in 2006, while shooting that crazy party we met with Megan and her then fiance Dustin. We like to think they were impressed by us, as they brought us to Austin for their special day. You may remember it as Eric was almost eaten whole by a Tarantula.  Well, the running joke was who were they were going refer, and a couple months later Megan emailed us with the news that Amanda and TJ were interested. After tons of wishing and hoping the call came and we were off to DC. It was fun to get the chance to see Megan and Dustin again and have Dustin start another bet. Between you and me, Dustin has no chance…

Back to Amanda & TJ and the great wedding weekend they had planned for us. From a little open house on Friday for their closest friends, to a very intimate dinner at a favorite restaurant, it was a weekend full of first’s and great times with our last wedding client in ‘07.

We traveled down to Busboys and Poets on Friday night for some mingling with friends and family. The place was full of character and made for some fun that we dare not expose of TJ’s funnier side.

On Saturday, we got up and did the little mock engagement session which you caught in our last post. Then in the afternoon the day got started and we were off to the Textile Museum for their wedding. The museum building had so much charm and fit the gathering almost perfectly. We had loads of fun trying to walk around during the ceremony and not let anyone hear us on the old wood floor.

Amanda & TJ came up with menu’s for each month for all of their guests and added some personal touches to each one.

A cake cutting with a Pecan Pie?

atj_wed_022.jpg

A side note, we technically have never eaten a cake at a wedding we have shot and it’s still true since this was a pie…  It was also Eric’s first time trying Pecan Pie.  What rock has he been living under?
