The Bridge

As we near the dawn of Neal’s clan adding one to their ranks, Eric wanted to show off his little baby over the last year or so.

His baby is a utility bridge, strange but true, though to an Architect a project like this can have it’s own little life (and often lasts longer then 9 months). Full of ups and downs and the anticipation as you see the shape you had drawn take form. Even more enjoyable was the awards this bridge won a merit award at the 2008 AIA Central States Design Excellence Awards.

Take a drive downtown and see for yourself (it is right next to the Sprint Center).

architects side note (yes we photograph lots of you):
A bit of the concept… a series of sine waves signifying the bridges function are formed out of perforations and bumps in black zinc. During the day it lies dormant, with little impact on the surroundings, but at night internal lighting pulses as a beacon to the electric current inside.

  1. This is incredible. You should be so very proud, Eric. The photography is excellent, but the bridge…oh my, the bridge is just utterly amazing.

Neal Cheated

It has now been officially three years since Eric and Neal first shot together. Oh, how the time flies by. Thanks again to Brad and Becca for the amazing wedding we got to witness to start this whole adventure. With all the enjoyment shooting weddings has brought us, it has also gave us the privilege of meeting some new friends, namely other photographers.

So back in July, when Eric was out of town, Neal cheated. Sounds dirty right? Totally not, but since our name is LemonLime and we are two guys shooting weddings, we learn to laugh at it. Neal shot a wedding with another excellent photographer in the Kansas City area, Dustin Steller. You can check out a couple images from that day and also the full blog post over at the Steller Times.

Nothing better than on an anniversary baring your soul and saying how you cheated. HA!

Weddings

amy & adam

It is the final stretch of the LemonLime wedding season and we keep getting blest with great couples. It might have something to do with us sitting down and explaining our style and each couple detailing their relationship as well as their wedding plans. During that meeting we get to know a lot about a couple. During our meeting with Amy and Adam we had the pleasure of meeting Amy’s parents, so we could see the dynamic of their day unfolding. The day came and it did not disappoint.

After a wonderful ceremony we were off to the reception. The location, Amy’s parents’ house, and the experience was fabulous. Yes, we have had a couple tent receptions in our day and each one of them has been a monster party. This party came with props, a limbo contest, and we will assume no alcoholic beverages were consumed.

Dude caught some air…

Yes, we did say props. But we stress no animals were harmed in the making of this party.

A little glow stick limbo.

This last shot was a perfect cap of the night. Amy and Adam have so much respect and everlasting love for each other. They both adore each other so much and the way they interacted all day was beautiful. We were so happy the day went without a flaw and they both had so much fun. We thank them for letting us be part of it.
